Dr. Michael Torres completed his MD/PhD at Johns Hopkins (clinical medicine and biomedical informatics) before joining Kaiser Permanente's newly formed AI Lab in 2016. Over eight years there, he led clinical AI validation studies covering radiology diagnostics, predictive readmission scoring, and LLM integration into clinical documentation workflows — publishing 18 peer-reviewed papers in the process.
